As in all communication, there are two sides to the icebreaker: the person who writes the message and the person who receives it. Do you need a better overview of the two sides? Then take a look at the following descriptions.
Send Icebreaker - this is how it works:
Pack your icebreaker in a crisp 250 characters or record a voice message. Try to be funny, original or charming. You can also respond to the person's profile. Anything is better than "Hi, how are you?"!
(Statistically speaking, extremely long chat requests as well as requests such as "Hi" or "Hi, how are you?" have the lowest probability of a response. So feel free to be a little more creative.)
Our tip for you: Pay attention to grammar and spelling. Mistakes or careless errors can quickly deny you opportunities.
Receive Icebreaker - this is how we let you know:
When someone sends you an Icebreaker, you will be notified by a push notification. The receipt of a new Icebreaker is also displayed in a special way within the app.
You will see a list of all your open Icebreakers under "New Icebreakers". In this list, you will only see the profile picture of the Icebreaker that has been open the longest and you can only react to this Icebreaker, e.g. send a reply. If you have received several Icebreakers, you can open them one after the other and curiously discover the people who have shown an interest in you.
If you open an Icebreaker, you can see all the other pictures of the person who sent you a message by clicking on the profile picture - without having to visit the profile.
