Our tips for planning your first "real" date should give you confidence:

• Listen to your gut!
  If something seems strange to you, take your intuition seriously and leave the situation or don't go there in the first place. Even if the person tells you that they are hurt or disappointed - your well-being is more important.
  
• It's a good idea to talk on the phone or use video chat before you meet "in real life". This will give you a more accurate picture of the person.
  
• The best place for a first date is one thing above all: public. It's best if you know your way around there and feel safe. A strange apartment is not a good place for a first date.
• Tell your friends about the date and take your cell phone with you.
• And again, because it's so important: You really can break off the meeting at any time if you don't like it.
  
• If you are invited to a video chat, bear in mind that it can always be recorded and therefore you and what you do can also be recorded. Unfortunately, even if someone assures you otherwise.

Should you unfortunately get into a problematic situation at a meeting, for example due to:

• Harassment
• Distress
• Theft
• Blackmail

... we advise you to report the person in question to us and file a complaint with the police using the profile ID.
